What Is Haryana's MET City Project? All You Need To Know

Introduction

Reliance MET City located in Haryana had a successful FY 2022-23, and it is rapidly becoming North India’s fastest-growing smart city. In the past year, the city welcomed 450 companies and seven international brands. Moreover, the city has sold over 2,000 residential plots for individual homes, expanding its horizon.
 
Reliance MET City, an integrated smart city, has been created by Model Economic Township Limited (METL), which is a 100% subsidiary of Reliance Industries. The city is designed to offer world-class infrastructure and provides the ‘Walk to Work’ benefit to its residents.
The city’s industrial sector added 76 new companies, which attracted an investment of approximately Rs 1,200 crore and generated employment potential for up to 8,000 individuals, as reported by ET Infra. These include Hamdard, Boditech from South Korea, and Nihon Kohden from Japan.
 
Furthermore, three phases of residential plotted development have been launched successfully, attracting over 1,200 new customers.

What is Reliance MET City project?

Reliance MET City is an 8,000-acre Greenfield Smart city situated in Jhajjar district near Gurugram, Haryana, and it is wholly-owned by Reliance Industries Limited. The city invested Rs 8,800 crore on land and infrastructure for its first phase and has obtained licenses for 1900 acres. It has launched five industrial sectors, three pockets of residential plotted developments, and two SCO projects.
 
Reliance MET City has attracted substantial investments and generated employment opportunities for over 25,000 individuals from various companies. The development project has exceptional connectivity to Delhi, as it is located along the KMP Expressway and is well-linked to various National Highways, including NH-9, NH-48, NH-71, and NH-10.
 
Furthermore, this undertaking is strategically located near a rail freight terminal and DFC corridor and is situated on SH 15-A.
